Few last days...

The last few days here in LIBA...few days earlier i was feeling different from what I'm feeling now...yeah you  guessed it right ... finally i made it to the pantheon of selected ones... it was good i had not counted the number of interviews i had to face to finally reach to my destination.. other who counted had fairly a large number ... no different then me i guess ;)  anyway as my friends say u are now second generation BOB.. yup  m  gen next in Bank of baroda... finally my desire to be part of banking industry is fulfilled. I feel like  BOB was preparing me all through out my education career to finally take me into her folds, nice idea... earlier feeling of "what to do next? " is finally replaced by excitement to get back home as soon as possible. And the examination schedule has given me ample time to enjoy my last few days here in liba without much of tension and hassle to get back to books.  Anyway m in fun mood now...
One lesson fro this entire episode... " U get what u want... simply have patience and put some real work..."

Bloggers Boom Part 1

This post i rate high on randomness coz i have no idea what i am going to write... though going by what every one of my friend is writing about on their blogs (with exceptions of very few) shows how stressed up people are. definitely this is trying times for all .... errrrr think m also going that way. STOP. i don't want to write what everyone else is writing.
Also i see a trend amongst my fellow bloggers and i have an idea as to why all of a sudden every tom dick and harry have plunged to become a blogger.I would like to share my thought with you. Since i say these are trying times and my fellows want to make a difference or they want to tap niche market as i think my marketing friends would say. But the problem here is that every one think he is writing uniquely and thus every one ends up writing same stuff in different structure of sentence.when i say this i definitely want to make exception for few bloggers who are writing differently.So, each of the bloggers want to attract attention , but  question is, whose attention they want to grab? Very specifically they have a target audience in their mind and they are not the Mango ppl but the recruiters coming for them. Fair enough For this reason i have seen a number of blogs coming up lately, serving specific area of specialization viz marketing hr and so on.Some people have gone to the extent of choosing a niche topic of the core subjects and dedicating a blog on this.
 ( I ) Like this.Any way this might be helpful to the readers get a perspective of the subject which they haven't gone thru. Amidst all this, few people have gone to the extent of writing multiple blogs each dedicated to their different areas of interest. writing about poem, bible and all others... Quiet interesting ! I had been listening to stories from bible from few of my friends and my curiosity of knowing more on this topic (but lazy enff to browse thru bible which i borrowed from my friend) led me to be a regular follower of the blog. see these blogs for details god and bible , Rural India and equally interesting is the blog coming straight from heart which says Speak your heart .
And again there are people who have discovered their paparazzi talent lately and have come up with blogs with all 'chatpati'  news from the college and around. That's interesting ( by this i recall one blog becoming very popular during the last ipl season . it was by some anonymous member who was omnipresent and had all insider information. well i c the last post is on June 15th'09 but he has given crazy ideas to people in our batch. for details see these blogs fake ipl player and our very one pandora's box.)  Though this blog has led to serious accusations from girls that " we know u boys are more gossip monger than the girls" , counter the general viewpoint. However i found it interesting to mention another blog when i when thru one of the post in this blog Anonymous blogger which is more interesting , simply because it's about  three girls and their life in a GIRLS hostel... ha ha ha quite interesting na... ! i found it too. but again this blog has varied range from poems to a girl's quiet life - that's another interesting part. do enjoy this blog. And definitely that one post which i mentioned in beginning refutes the claim by girls that boys are more gossip monger than the girls.
Then there are people whom i thought were kind master in finance but i never thought they could be equally good in matters of marketing. may be they have another opportunity to become critic no  not film critic but ad critic.Every one of us who know him admired his post regarding the posts he wrote in last few days. nevertheless read his posts on finance, which helped many of us to understand some concept better. (for details read chris's call).
 well i  want to write more on this ... (i am finding it interesting write about what other are posting .. he he he)  but got to go... Certainly i have few more very interesting Blogs to write about... i'll do that in next post

Liba-rated 09 part 1

This year libarated, our annual Cultural fest, had some special. flavor.
Theme Being shriek fest, the setup was all dark n gloomy but the mood enthusiastic. Guys n gals worked some days n nights to make this event a hit. kudos to u ppl. And yeah Liba being ranked 9th this year was something to celebrate (finally it got, what was deserved and awaited). Amonst many flavors, nigel and Cerys brought some goan flavor to the show, here's the clipping for the performance. hope u ppl enjoy this.

Pandora's Box

Recently came across a mast mast blog by fellow libaite who has whole new perspective abt what's happening in & out of LIBA. It's an interesting read. More so, this includes all gossips and all which is tabu to disclose publicly. Another feature which I like in it is the names given to the characters , that's hilarious.

"Paap aur Punya"

    Finally the event was over. CG 09, we ,the CG team, Kept the tradition of CG intact. With everything going smoothly and wonderful speakers putting forth their views, it was a great time both working pre and post event. 

    The valedictory session was chaired by Former vigilance commissioner Mr N Vittal. And during his valedictory speech he mentioned that when paap (devil) and punya (Godly) meet there happens an explosion. And this is very true with satyam (meaning truth) . People would never know what was the plan going on inside Raju's brain, but he happened to proove the point that Mr Vittal emphasized. Satyam and the Maytas (reverse of satyam) came together and the result is all history...An explosion of the kind which shook not even Satyam alone but has painted a shady picture of entire Indian IT industry for the world. And even engulfed the prominent Accounting firm and others. And while emphasizing on the need for thinking ahead of time, he said... Thieves are extraordinary and the police just a critic. They tend to think two steps ahead of what their counterpart do. And the loopholes in the legal system is what they take advantage of.  More and more harsh act simply add to more paper works instead of any tangible remedy.  We need to rethink, what measures should the regulatory body take so that we can stop any reccurence of future satyam. 

Baton has passed...

     After a long time, time has come to deliver... The baton has passed from the senior to us. And the event is the last for the seniors.... so farewell for seniors starts  with the closure of this event. 

     Liba organises it's second series of seminars on Corporate governance in co operation with National Foundation for corporate governance. Looking forward to the day.... Feb 9th. 2009 at "Hotel Green park".

Krazy Drunks... :)

I believe most of the people do have a common conception that people go out of control and babble after having drunk, atleast i had. But amazingly for a quite few times i have been in the company of few guys who drink and after having drunk they talk sense. And to my surprise... they discuss business propositions... I know people who by chance have been going through this post would think that this guy's crazy.. there is nothing new in this... many of the people fall in this category ...but to me it's new. 

seemingly long night...

    This night seems so looong...tommorow we are having BFA paper and each and everyone in the hostel is planning a night out. Without this tommorows paper seems dificult to crack... And "Vandiphobia" is prominent among the topperzz of our batch... already we are half done in this paper ... errr I mean to say... most of us fighting for something more than 50% ... Lets see what Vandi has in store for us...

Ande Ka fundaaaaa

   Why is Sectional Marking scheme applied in so many of MBA colleges? At the beginning i didn't understand this. But as the mid term appraoches and mid term marks and hell lot of other marks, which myself dont know when did I write all these papers, come it is becoming seemingly clear. It's all to f@#$ the guys. At the end we come to know the for pass u want atleast 75% marks. How the hell do u think a person who managed only 40% in all these internal tests can manage to get this barrier crossed. A guy who managed to get 44% in in the internal comes running to me and puzzles me with all these calculations... He sighs ... wow i need only 22 to pass . But he ran out of wind when he realized that it was out of 30 and when making it to 100 he needs 73.3 marks to passs....  man!!  this is too much.... 

Even I think what am to do now... i dont feel like reading any of these subjects particularly which hit almost everybody( save for some really brilliant guys). And then I sit hereto vent out my frustration...
