What If, Atlas Shrugged? what would you tell him to do?

What If, Atlas Shrugged? what would you tell him to do?: "

“If you saw Atlas, the giant who holds the world on his shoulders, if you saw that he stood, blood running down his chest, his knees buckling, his arms trembling but still trying to hold the world aloft with the last of his strength, and the greater the effort the heavier the world bore down upon his shoulders–what would you tell him to do?”

I stumbled upon this message on Facebook and the instant thought to share this with my fellow bloggers.

There are lots of theories, if Atlas was condemned to hold the sphere or he took it to him to save the universe. If atlas is holding up the earth or the entire universe. You may visit wiki for details.

However the prima facie response, we get from ourselves is that the pain and sufferings Poor Atlas is undergoing. Blood running down his chest, his knees buckling, his arms trembling but still he is holding up. He is holding up a promise, a promise to save millions of lives.

Why is he suffering? What for? Have we ever questioned? I had a true representation of this feeling when I read the book Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. Atlas represents the cluster of Prime Movers who have actually taken upon themselves to run the world. Run might not be the correct word. They are the Source of the machine called earth. And there are others parasites who are feeding on Atlas and abusing him in return. The book , as I perceive, describes parasites as the ones who are at the helm of affairs in every aspect. How do they reach there… Simple ! It’s coz they are conniving with other felons at large to feed on every prime movers anywhere in the world. To demean them, to feed at them, to Finish them. Their modus operandi? Society, benefit of society at large. Yes, the very idea of Society shall be benefited not an Individual, alone. Don’t we see such things happening NOW. And without any guilt. We talk about team, team work, team spirit. What if only one in the team is actually the prime mover and the rest are just accessories? It’s still a team, at least, when we look from the outside. Copying ideas is so blatantly done, whatever be the pretext, is unimaginable. Today we have patenting, any one can patent his/her ideas. Do we have machinery and process to measure, “does this idea really belong to the person concerned?”.

But are we oblivious of the fact that if Prime movers decide to strike, as they did in the book, How would parasite survive? Is Atlas thoughtful of them? Knowing all these facts, He’s holding it still. he’s holding it still. I believe, we don’t deserve his pain and sufferings. Let, Atlas put it at last.
